The first section is flat and mostly paved following along the Olmsted Ponds. Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest is a privately-owned member supported non-profit organization. Members help us conserve and protect the 16,140 acres of land that is home to upwards of over 3 million trees; 2,100 species of wildlife; 40 miles of hiking trails, and hosts more than 400,000 visitors each year. The Giants were introduced to Bernheim Forest in celebration of the 90th anniversary of Bernheim’s original land acquisition. You can view all of them in a relatively short walk/hike leaving much of Bernheim Forest unexplored. In total, there are some 40 miles of trails.
